Abhinav Bindra Wiki: Abhinav Bindra (born September 28, 1983) is a shooting sports person from India specialising in the field of Air rifle. He was the youngest Indian participant at the 2000 Olympic Games. He won six gold medals at various international meets in 2001.

The calm and composed 2006 world champion shooter entered the final in fourth place (100,99,100,98,100 and 99) but held his nerves until the end.He shot a near bulls eye and then Hakkinen buckled under pressure of Bindra’s brilliance and the prayers of a million Indian glued to the TV screen. My mom had tears of joy and I leaped in ecstasy. India was on the Gold Medal Tally Score Board .In the Air rifle event at the 2002 Commonwealth Games, Manchester, he won Gold in the Pairs event and Silver in the individual event. At the 2004 Olympic Games, he broke the Olympic record but failed to win a medal.
